With the widespread application of maintenance-free technology, stainless steel bearings have been widely used in food machinery, daily machinery and various corrosion resistance fields. But it has only become a general-purpose series of products in miniature bearings, deep groove ball bearings and outer spherical bearings.

1. Excellent corrosion resistance: stainless steel bearings are not easy to rust and have strong corrosion resistance.

2. Washable: Stainless steel bearings can be washed with water. There is no need to reapply anti-rust oil to prevent the punishment of rust.

3. Can run in liquid: Because of the material used, the bearing and bearing seat can run in liquid.

4. Slow depletion speed: AISI 316 stainless steel does not require oil or grease to prevent corrosion. Therefore, if the speed and load are low, lubrication is not necessary.

5. Sanitation: Stainless steel is naturally clean and does not corrode.

6. High heat resistance: stainless steel bearings with high temperature resistant polymers can operate in a higher temperature range of 180°F to 1000°F. (Requires high temperature grease)

It is generally believed that if the heat treatment hardness reaches 60HRC or more, its rated load capacity should be equivalent to GCr15 (bearing steel) bearings, but because 9Cr18 (stainless steel) contains complex carbides (Fe, Cr) 7C3, there are a lot of eutectic carbides. , The average size and diameter of carbide particles in its structure is significantly larger than GCr15 steel (about 10 times that of bearing steel). According to this, it can be considered that the fatigue life of stainless steel bearings is lower than that of bearing steel. According to research data, the contact fatigue life of stainless steel L10 and L50 is about 70% and 15% lower than that of bearing steel, respectively. In terms of rolling mill bearings,

The advantage of stainless steel is anti-corrosion, and the working condition of the bearing is fully lubricated and protected by lubricating oil. Generally, the bearing will not rust. Moreover, the biggest feature of bearings is that they require good contact fatigue life and impact load resistance. Therefore, stainless steel is not an ideal material for rolling mill bearings.
